Julius Malema criticizes Kunene over potholes and traffic light malfunctions in Johannesburg

Julius Malema has called out Kenny Kunene, the MMC of Transport in Johannesburg, for not getting traffic lights fixed and potholes repaired. Malema thinks Kunene is struggling to handle his responsibilities.

The leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema, has taken aim at Johannesburg's transport head, Kenny Kunene, for not doing his job. He pointed out Kunene's failure to address potholes and ensure that traffic lights are working properly, implying that Kunene is in over his head when it comes to managing the city's transport issues.

Johannesburg has been dealing with crumbling roads, with potholes and malfunctioning traffic lights frustrating both drivers and residents. The city's ongoing service delivery problems have sparked political tensions, and Malema's comments reflect the growing rift between opposition parties and the coalition government in charge of Johannesburg.

Kunene, who is known for his bold statements, hasn't directly replied to Malema yet, but he has previously attributed the city's transport problems to years of neglect and poor financial management by past leaders. Still, Malema argues that Kunene isn't providing any real solutions.

The criticism arises during wider discussions about how services are being delivered in South African cities, where political instability and coalition governments are complicating governance. With Johannesburg's transport system still deteriorating, Malema's comments highlight this issue.
