Drug dealers selling Drugs to University students in Limpopo arrested


 

A recent intelligence-driven operation conducted by the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Limpopo province has resulted in the arrest of four suspects aged between 25 and 62 for possession and dealing in drugs.

The operation, which took place between Saturday, January 1, 2025, and Sunday, January 2, 2025, targeted drug dealers in the Mankweng and Mahwelereng policing precincts.

In Mankweng, two suspects aged 30 and 25 were arrested for possession and dealing in drugs at Majebas kraal. The police had received intelligence information about a male suspect selling drugs to university students around gate 02. Following thorough investigations, the suspects were arrested at separate locations.

The 30-year-old suspect was found in possession of 50 sachets of an unknown substance, while the 25-year-old suspect had 550 sachets of nyaope, 30 sachets of crystal-meth, and 35 pieces of rock cocaine drugs valued at approximately R31 250.00.

Meanwhile, in Mahwelereng, a 41-year-old female suspect was arrested at Ga-Molekane Village on Saturday, January 1, 2025. A search of her premises yielded 6 sachets of crystal-meth and 65 sachets of dagga. She was immediately placed under arrest.

The operational team then proceeded to Armoed Village, where a 62-year-old African female was arrested after being found in possession of 245 sachets of dagga and approximately 5kg of dagga.

The suspects are expected to appear before the local Magistrate's Courts soon. Police investigations are ongoing.
