Floyd Shivambu, the Secretary-General of the MK Party, skillfully sidestepped questions about the possibility of Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, a former MP from the Economic Freedom Fighters, joining the MK Party.
Rumors have been circulating due to Ndlozi's noticeable distance from EFF leadership and his increasing public discussions about his political future. Some insiders believe that the MK Party, which is looking to grow its influence, might be interested in Ndlozi’s intellectual and charismatic qualities.
When asked about this, Shivambu responded carefully, stating, “The MK Party does not recruit individuals. People who join the party do so of their own accord, driven by their convictions and alignment with our mission. No one is pressured or coaxed into joining.”
This response reflects the MK Party's commitment to natural membership growth. However, it did not stop the speculation regarding a possible connection with Ndlozi, who is recognized for his strong communication skills and clear ideology from his time with the EFF.
Ndlozi has not commented on the rumors, adding to the mystery of his political path. Once a prominent member of the EFF and a close associate of Julius Malema, he has kept a low profile since leaving his parliamentary position.
Experts suggest that if Ndlozi were to join the MK Party, it could represent a significant change in South Africa’s political scene. “Ndlozi’s impact, particularly among young people and intellectuals, could greatly boost the MK Party’s attractiveness,” said a political analyst.
For now, the question of whether Ndlozi will connect with the MK Party remains open. Shivambu’s noncommittal response has only intensified speculation, prompting observers to stay alert for any updates.
