Hawks are conducting an investigation into Khumbudzo Ntshavheni concerning allegations of corruption
Hawks are conducting an investigation into Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, the Minister in the Presidency, concerning allegations of corruption.
Godfrey Lebeya, the head of the Hawks, has confirmed that the inquiry pertains to Ntshavheni's previous role as the municipal manager of Ba-Phalaborwa in Limpopo.
The allegations involve a 2008/2009 accounting contract valued at R2.5 million, which is claimed to have been awarded in an irregular manner.
Lebeya noted that this case was previously investigated in 2021.
He stated that the findings will be submitted to the National Prosecuting Authority upon the conclusion of the investigation.
"At present, regarding the Ba-Phalaborwa case, the Prosecuting Authority has issued specific directives on what aspects require examination. There are various levels within the Prosecuting Authority that can offer guidance," Lebeya remarked.
In light of these developments, several political parties have urged the President to take appropriate measures against Ntshavheni.
